Did You Hear About That TCU-Kansas Game?
This had to be one of those games that while even though their team was not playing well, since they were playing better than the No. 5 team in the nation fans of the TCU Horned Frogs had to be happy (at least a little bit).
The game itself wasn't a barn burner. It took about 3 1/2 minutes for the first points to be scored and over seven before Kansas ever got on the board. Over six more minutes would tick off the clock before the Jayhawks would score again.
Funny thing is that as bad as they were playing the Horned Frogs were not good enough to really put them away. Kansas was down by nine at the half; not pretty, but entirely possible to overcome. With six minutes to go they got the deficit down to four, but it just wasn't meant to be for Kansas.
In the end the Jayhawks outscored the Horned Frogs in the second half 42-40 making that nine-point deficit in the first half key. The win is the first in Big 12 play for the Horned Frogs and only their 10th of the season. It was also the first time a TCU basketball team had ever defeated a top five ranked squad.
