No. 1 Indiana Upset by Fighting Illini

Does anyone want to be No.1?

Over the last five weeks the No. 1 team in the nation has fallen. Last week it was Michigan courtesy of the Hoosiers. This week the Hoosiers were looking to buck that trend, but first things first--they had to make it by the Fighting Illini.

Looking at Illinois you would think that shouldn't be a problem. The Illini were 15-8 overall and just 2-7 in conference play. The Hoosiers are one of the best teams in the nation and have one of the best players in Cody Zeller.

The Illini had history on its side though having beaten the Hoosiers nine of the last ten times the two teams played.

Now you can make it 10 of 11.

The score looked like what fans expected at the end of the first half with the Hoosiers up 41-29. IU stayed up by double digits for most of the second half as well, but over the last 3:36 they redefined what 'ice cold' means making just a single basket.

As cold as it was they Hoosiers still had a shot if they could just make it to overtime, but somehow Tyler Griffey was able to slice through the lane uncontested for the winning lay up.

Illinois wins 74-72.
