Jake Long Signs with the Rams; Richie Incognito's Twitter Campaign Fails

Ryan Tannehill's week is not starting off the way he wanted it to. The quarterback for the Miami Dolphins is going to need to find someone else to anchor one side of the offensive line and protect his behind next season. Tackle Jake Long has signed a four-year, $36 million deal with the St. Louis Rams.

It is not exactly news. He had been talking with the Rams at length of late, and the Dolphins organization was not showing a whole lot desire to keep him, minus the Twitter campaign that fellow offensive lineman Richie Incognito started.

Incognito has been doing his best to keep his buddy in town by getting a Twitter campaign going #bringjakehome.

Sadly, it did not work.

Long was the No. 1 pick in 2008. Prior to the triceps injury that knocked him out in December last season he had only missed two games in five years. In those seasons he made the Pro Bowl four times. He has had some injury issues over the years, but the Dolphins swear that they were not a factor in negotiations.

They certainly were not for the Rams.
