There was one thing that was for certain--the Kansas City Chiefs would be taking an offensive lineman so that new quarterback Alex Smith could have a little protection. It was pretty much between Eric Fisher from Central Michigan and Luke Joeckel from Texas A&M.
And the first pick in the 2013 NFL draft is --drum roll please--Eric Fisher!
Word had spread about an hour prior to the draft that the Chiefs were going to go with Fisher. This was one of those rare cases where the Chiefs could not go wrong. Either player will be able to step in and start right off the bat, and both are expected to have fruitful careers.
