Charles Woodson Back With the Oakland Raiders

Recently free agent veteran defensive back Charles Woodson wondered publicly why he and some other quality veterans (i.e. Brian Urlacher, Dwight Freeney, etc.) were still without jobs. They might be older, but they can still get the job done as good if not better than these young bucks!

Freeney signed with the Chargers over the weekend and now Woodson is off the market as well. Yes, sports fans, the Raider Nation got what it wanted. One of its former favorite sons is coming home.

Y'all miss me?
Woodson has signed a deal to return to the Raiders, the team that took him with the No. 4 pick in the 1998 draft. They let him go to Green Bay where he helped the Packers win a Super Bowl, won the Defensive Player of the Year ('09) and was named to the Pro Bowl four times ('08-'11).

Green Bay didn't want to bring the 36-year old cornerback back making him a free agent. It was rumored that the Broncos and 49ers were interested, and he spoke publicly about an interest in Detroit.

Whatever the Raiders told him during his visit must have been exactly what he wanted to hear because he didn't waste any time and signed on the same day of his visit.

The exact numbers of the deal are not known at this time, but he did get a $700K signing bonus and the maximum value is supposedly $4.3 million.
