You have to love a player that is so excited that his team won-not just won, but swept-- a series against their cross-town rival that he takes to Twitter to brag about it. If only common sense and the memory that his team is one of the worst in baseball didn't rear its ugly head and make him delete said message.
Of course when it comes to anything that could even be remotely embarrassing on the World Wide Web someone will save it before it can be erased. So even thought little used pitcher Collin McHugh tried to right his wrong thanks to the web it will forever live on in glorious infamy.
Kudos to The Other Paper for grabbing this one while they could.
The Yankees Nation will get their chance to exact a little revenge on McHugh Saturday after he makes his first start of the season. If his two brief appearances this season are any indication (three innings, six hits, four earned runs, two homers, ERA of 12.00) he might have his work cut out for him.
Then again he is pitching against the Miami Marlins so he could/should get a big confidence boost.
