The Indiana Pacers have proven that they will not go quietly into the night against the Miami Heat after taking Game 6 in decisive fashion, 91-77, but some of the best action of the night did not take place on the court. It was in the press room.
Courtesy of Pacers big man Roy Hibbert.
The big man was not in the mood to mince words at all after the big win. When he was asked what he appeared to think was a stupid question (and it was a stupid question; who cares why he did not receive more Defensive POY votes?) he gave the reporter what he felt was an appropriate answer:
You have to love the reaction of the TNT crew after the clip too. Hibbert knows he'll get fined and so do they. The best point was brought by Shaq though--Hibbert better bring it again in Game 7 if the Pacers are going to make the Finals.
When you listen to this clip pay real close attention to what Hibbert says right around the 20-22 second mark.
No homo? What the? Is he trying to pull some sort of Super Troopers meow game here? With the way he chuckles after saying 'no homo' it sure seems like that was the case.
I'm sure that is something he'll be asked about in the days leading up to Game 7. It will be interesting to see what he says.
Overall--nice job Roy. Way to keep the press conferences fun. We know its just you being you man. Like LeBron says, #itsjustdifferent.
Although we haven't seen him since Game 3 I bet Sad Spiderman is no longer sad.
