Larry Fitzgerald is a Minnesota Vikings Fan?

Fans have been faced with some unsettling images of late. San Francisco 49ers fans have had to deal with their quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, wearing a Miami Dolphins hat. Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton admitted to being a die-hard Atlanta Falcons fan, and says he cheers for them whenever he isn't playing them.

What the ****? What are these guys talking about? Where's the loyalty? Geez! Whose next? Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is.

The longtime Cardinal recently admitted that he is like Cam Newton; he cheers for a team he grew up watching (the Vikings) except when he's playing them.
"I grew up a Vikings fan and I would be lying to you if I didn’t say I was still a Vikings fan. Growing up in Minnesota it’s second nature. I still pull for them when I’m not playing them. A lot of my closest friends in the NFL are Vikings...You pull for your friends."
So far--at least that I've heard--Fitzgerald has not gotten near the heat that Kapernick and Newton have for their admissions. Maybe its because he was a ball boy for the Vikings growing up. Maybe its because it really isn't news since it's public knowledge that his dad would love for him to play for the Vikings.

Or maybe its because the fans in Arizona are a bit more reasonable than those in San Francisco and Charlotte. Maybe they remember that the guys in the NFL were once kids; kids that were fans of teams. Just because they got older and started playing for a team themselves it doesn't mean that they have to denounce the team that they have followed their entire lives.

It just isn't natural.  So Cam,  Colin, Larry, and anyone else--go ahead and support whomever you please. Just be sure and beat them come game day.
