Sadly, the cost of winning is sometimes having to give up part of the team. With a hefty luxury tax bill coming their way, the Heat had to get rid of someone in order to get some relief. That unlucky someone happened to be Mike Miller.
By using the amnesty provision on the $12.8 million he was due over the next two seasons the Heat will save around $15-17 million. As regrettable as the decision is, it was one that had to be done; the dreaded cost of doing business in the NBA.
