Texas Rangers Are Experiencing Déjà vu

Here the Texas Rangers are, once again in the thick of a division pennant race and wild-card battle. Sounds familiar right? It should; the Rangers have been one of the most competitive teams in baseball in recent years, but that is not where the déjà vu ends.

Once again the team is in desperate need of healthy pitchers



Last season the roster was so decimated by injuries that the Rangers took a chance on former ace Roy Oswalt and traded for Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster at the deadline. With this year’s deadline fast approaching the Rangers are in the mix for some pitching help once again.

Matt Garza has been the most talked about possibility, but it does not look like it is going to happen. Early last week the deal appeared to be a no-brainer, but after the Cubs and Rangers exchanged medical records the deal was called off.

A source with Yahoo! Sports claimed that the Rangers were still interested in Garza making it seem as if the problem may have been with one of the players the Rangers offered....
