Vince Young Makes a Big Push for the No. 2 Job in Green Bay

When Vince Young was picked up by the Green Bay Packers fans in Austin were pretty darn happy that one of their favorite sons was getting another chance. However, those that know him more for his antics in the NFL might not have been as confident adding Young was a good idea.

After his performance Friday against the Seahawks I'd be willing to bet that quite a few Cheeseheads will be happy to have Young as the back-up to Aaron Rodgers.

Against the Seahawks he led the Packers to their only touchdown of the game on an 11 play, 80-yard drive that was vintage-Young--and not the Buffalo, Philadelphia, or Tennessee one but the Texas Longhorns-national championship winning one.

Whether it was on the ground (like in the 19-yard scamper above) or in the air he got the job done. He was almost perfect through the air (6-7 for 41 yards and a touchdown) and did a good job on the ground with 31 yards on three carries.

It is not clear if it will be enough for the team to name him the No. 2, but it will certainly help his case. Graham Harrell hasn't been impressive at all during the preseason. At times B.J. Coleman has (not against the 'Hawks), but the popular sentiment is that he's destined for the third string job or practice squad.
