49ers Aldon Smith 'Held Out' Indefintely by Team; Headed to Rehab

There were some that were surprised that San Francisco 49ers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh played linebacker Aldon Smith after his 7AM arrest recently for driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

Well, they will not have to wonder about it anymore.

There was talk that there may have been some concern over how to proceed with the situation in respect to the CBA. No one wants to suspend a guy for screwing up--like Smith--and than have to pay him anyway because they broke some labor rule.

It appears that they may have found a way to do the right thing while not screwing themselves in the process. They started by saying that he would not play on Thursday, but someone eventually got the team to say he was going to be held out indefinitely--but they never said he was suspended.

Smith does not appear as if he is going to argue or fight things. After the game he read a statement to the press and admitted he has a problem.

During the Sunday Night Football coverage prior to kickoff it was reported that he was going to be going to an in-patient treatment facility.
