E.J. Manuel the Answer the Buffalo Bills Have Been Looking For?

He was brought with hopes of being the man of the future, but was not expected to be the man of right now. However, an injury ended the season for the expected starter, veteran quarterback Kevin Kolb and necessity dictated that the time become now.

And after two games it appears like the Age of E.J. Manuel may have arrived!
He nearly led the team to a win over the New England Patriots in Week 1. His performance was not great; efficient maybe, but he showed in Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers that he can pull through in the clutch.

With just 1:38 on the clock, down by six, and 80 yards from pay dirt it was time for the former Florida State quarterback to put up or shut up. About a minute and a half of game time later he tossed a two-yard pass to Stevie Johnson while he was all alone in the corner of the end zone for the go-ahead score (see above).

Now to keep it all in perspective--it is only one game and just one win. Yes, he got close against the Patriots, but close doesn't count except in--you know.

But he did throw for 296 yards while completing 69.2 percent of his passes--pretty good.

Is it great? Not so much. Can he be great? We'll have to wait and see, but at least it appears for the time being that Buffalo fans may have something to look forward to.
