Toronto Raptors Trying to Take a Page Out of the Brooklyn Nets Playbook

The last time the Toronto Raptors made it to the post season was in 2007-08. The last time they won a post season series was the 2000-01 season which is also the only post season series the Raptors have ever won.

Needless to say there are some changes that need to be made. While the team hopes that it can do so on the court this season that isn't the only place the team needs some work--and they are hoping the popular rapper Drake can help.

The Raptors organization has decided to hire the young, Toronto-born artists to help them rebrand the team and change its public image. Exactly what that will entail we will probably find out in the coming days (their is a more formal announcement scheduled for Monday).

It's probably safe to say the role will be a lot like the one Jay-Z took with the Nets--he's going to make the Raptors cool. He's the perfect guy to do it, too.

He's a life long fan so you know that even though this is a business decision his heart is in the right place. He really wants to see his home town team improve.

In case that is not enough his worldwide appeal should help. From fans of Degrassi: The Next Generation to his legions of hip hop fans is circle of influence is pretty big.

Any guesses as to how long it will take for a picture of Johnny Manziel in a Raptors hat to surface online?

Chances are he will be able to help quite a bit, but in the end it will not matter if the team can't get it together on the court.
