Baylor Bears Giving Fans Plenty of Reasons to Celebrate!

It was not that long ago that the Baylor Bears were the team you wanted to see your team play for Homecoming. To put it bluntly-they were bad. They did rise from the ashes thanks to the play of the school's first Heisman trophy winner, Robert Griffin III, but there was some concern that they would fall back down once he left for the NFL.

Instead the teams thrived under Nick Florence last season, and so far they are looking pretty darn good with Bryce Petty under center this year. After the way the Bears demolished West Virginia Saturday night it appears that the college football futures of the Baylor players are looking just fine!

There were some that wondered if the Baylor Bears were as good as advertised. They had the No. 1 offense in the nation by far, but they wracked up the yards and points against some pretty  poor teams.Could they do it against a good Mountaineers squad?

By halftime we knew the answer to that question. Heck, that answer was clear by time the first quarter was over!

If there were any doubters by the end of the first half it was pretty  clear that the Bears were something else by time the game was over:

Going into the game the WVU defense had looked pretty good. Yes, they did get blasted for 37 points by Maryland the week before, but they also held a very tough Oklahoma team to just 16 points. So either they were overrated going into the game or the Baylor Bears are for real.

We may have to wait till the Bears play the Sooners themselves on November 7, but in the meantime Baylor players and fans are going to keep doing what they do and dancing the night away!
