Decision on Matt Schaub Coming Late in the Week; T.J. Yates and Case Keenum Preparing to Play

After the way fans reacted when Matt Schaub was injured Sunday I'm not sure if they will look at this as good news or bad news, but it looks like there is a chance that he could play when the team travels to Kansas City next week.

So 'Yeah! He's okay!' or 'Boo! He's okay!' depending on your perspective.

The early word is that his right foot, ankle and lower leg are really sore, but the team has not specified if there is any more of an issue than that. It is the kind of injury that they give injections for (if that tells you anything).

As far as his status for the coming week all Head Coach Gary Kubiak would say is it's an end of week decision. Whether it would hinge on his health or not was not something he would specify. Nor did he say if it would be T.J. Yates of Case Keenum.

“I think Matt’s going to be an end-of-the-week decision one way or the other,” head coach Gary Kubiak said. “I’ll prepare both Case (Keenum) and T.J. and we’ll go from there at the end of the week. Obviously, I think Matt’s … it’ll be the end of the week before we know anything, so I’ll prepare the other two.”

Kubiak already set the stage last week to pull Schaub when he said that the decision to start him was a very tough one. With that in mind it would bot be shocking to see Schaub sit with an injury to give Yates another try or possibly local college hero Case Keenum.

Only time will tell...
