Nasty Accident Injures Dario Franchitti and 13 Fans During Gran Prix of Houston

Football season is in full swing. The baseball post season is underway. Hockey is back and the NBA preseason has started--and they are not the only game in town. The Houston Texans are playing Sunday night so that gave race fans a chance to come out and watch the Grand Prix of Houston,

However, after watching the Indy Car race there will be some fans that will end up watching the Texans take on the 49ers from the local hospital.

The accident occurred during the last lap of the race in Turn 5. Debris from the accident flew into the stands injuring 13 people; only two needed to go to the hospital for treatment

Dario Franchitti got pretty messed up though. The three-time Indy 500 winner was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. It is safe to say he is not going to do much driving for awhile. It might be kind of hard after breaking an ankle and fracturing two vertebrae (not to mention the concussion).
