Shamrock Series Shaping Up to Be Huge for Notre Dame

This weekend is the Shamrock Series; an annual game that Notre Dame has played since 2009 at a neutral site in order to promote the school and its athletic programs. It also gives the Fighting Irish a chance to break out some alternate duds (the helmet on the right is what they'll be wearing this weekend).

The game will be a lot more than a great marketing tool this season. After the loss to Oklahoma last weekend the team has fallen to 3-2; not good after going undefeated a year ago. A win will install some much needed confidence in the team; a loss could send unleash one heck of a barrage from fans.

It's not going to come easy either. Arizona State is ranked No. 22 in the nation and are coming off of a 62-point performance against USC. They also took down a tough Wisconsin team a couple weeks ago.

So win and the ship will be righted (for now). Lose--well, lets not think about that. Good thing is they have yet to lose since the Shamrock Series started.
