Reggie Wayne Hauls Career Catch No. 1000 in Loss to Chargers

It was not a great day for the Indianapolis Colts in San Diego Monday night, but it was a career day for the Colts No. 1 wide receiver Reggie Wayne. Right around the nine minute mark of the fourth quarter he hauled in a 21-yard catch from Andrew Luck for reception No. 1000.

The catch made him just the ninth player in NFL history to haul in 1000 or more receptions. Late in the game he would catch another to give him 1001 for his career. He will likely pass Isaac Bruce on the all time list in a few games (1024), but he would have to have one heck of a season to take over No. 6 (Terrell Owens; 1078).

Assuming he plays again next season there is a good chance to climb as high as No. 3, a spot currently held by his former partner in crime Marvin Harrison (1102).
