Just Call Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck 'Mr. Clutch'

I have to admit that I didn't want the Colts to take this guy with the No. 1 pick in the draft. I thought Robert Griffin III was better. Not only that, but during his last season in college I did not think he looked too impressive against some of the stiffer competition.

He didn't look like the kind of guy that could get the job done when the team needed it the most.

Boy, was I ever wrong!

His numbers (minus the total yards) may not blow people away. He and the rest of the Colts offense often do look like crap (especially in the first half). However, when it matters most no one gets the job done quite like Luck does.

The go ahead touchdown in the third quarter is a perfect example. Even though he did not have a reputation for being  a runner in college he has proven to be quite effective in the NFL--like he does here. Not only does he make a nice run, but he gives a beauty of a pump fake to help open up his running lane.

Beautiful. Simply beautiful--and clutch.

Of course it helps if they win--which they did, 30-27; not real clutch otherwise.
