When the Texas Rangers didn't try real hard to keep Josh Hamilton there were some that were a little surprised. Yeah, he has injury issues, and yeah he had one really, really long slump in the second half of his final season in Texas--but overall he was a pretty good ball player when he was in the lineup.
Therein was the problem for Texas--when he was in the lineup. He was out a little too often for some, and now the Angels are going to get a taste of what Rangers fans used to complain about.
Thanks to this head first slide that was not necessary (it's not just you Yasiel Puig) he injured his thumb. It was bad enough that he needs to have surgery to repair the damage and is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks.
All because he made a stupid pee-wee league type mistake--and all over Texas there are Rangers fans that are real glad the Angels over paid for Hamilton and that their team didn't.
