Richard Sherman and Michael Crabtree Could Learn Something From These Two Rugby Players [GIF]

At the end of the last NFL season one of the dominant storylines was the tiff that started between Seattle Seahawks defensive back Richard Sherman and San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree. Maybe Sherman meant well at the time on the field--but he sure didn't act like it afterwards. Than there was the two of them on Twitter....

Ridiculous and a poor show of sportsmanship on both of their parts--which is why they could learn a thing or two from these rugby players.

The guy getting hit is Leicester's Tom Youngs which makes the guy doing the hitting Northampton's Salesi Ma'afu. These guys are professional rugby players overseas and were playing in the Avia Premiership playoff semifinal.

So yeah, the stakes were big.

Like Sherman and Crabtree they were playing hard, but rather than get in a war of words and pats on the butt what you see above is what transpired. What is interesting--and where Sherman and Crabtree could learn something--is how they handled the mess after the game.

It is sad to say, but too often it seems that sportsmanship is a secondary consideration to a lot of our NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and college sports heroes. Yeah, winning is what people will remember, but the people that win right are the ones that become legendary.
