WATCH: Spurs Guard Patty Mills Performs a Traditional Torres Strait Island Dance With His Family

The San Antonio Spurs are the United Nations of the NBA. The current roster has someone from New Zealand, Italy, France, Virgin Islands, Argentina, Ontario, Brazil, Australia, and a few from the United States.

Unique to say the least--but it gets better. Point guard Patty Mills is not just from Australia; he's one of the first Indigenous Australians to play in the NBA.

Indigenous Australians are the original inhabitants of the Australian continent and nearby islands. According to Wikipedia they are descended from the first humans to migrate out of Africa some 50,000+ years ago.

Folks must have asked him in the past to post a dance from his native land--so he did. This is the caption he included with the video on Instagram:
As requested, this is me and some of the family performing a traditional Torres Strait Island dance last August on Thursday Island. #mounternest #happyplace#islandboy

Pretty freaking cool.
