San Francisco 49ers New Stadium to be Most Vegan Friendly in the Country

Part of the fun in going to an NFL game is the food. It's yummy, delicious and so bad for you--but it's awesome. When fans in San Francisco go to a game at Levi's Stadium this coming season they can enjoy some. As it turns out, should they want some healthier fare--vegan friendly even--they can get that too.

Yum, right coach?

Levi Stadium will actually be able to boast the best vegan-friendly menu of any arena in the country next season according to the catering company, Centerplate:
“We are going to be the most vegan-friendly stadium in the entire sports industry,” Zach Hensely, manager of Centerplate, told the San Francisco Chronicle.
No tofu, but there will be delicacies like Portobello mushrooms on a bun. According to Hensely there will be 30 vegan dishes available with at least one dish at every permanent food stand in the stadium.

The health kick does not end there. Even the hotdogs are going to be--well, not as bad for you as normal hotdogs. Stadium Chef Ryan Stone described them as "...antibiotic, hormone-free meats. It's a natural casing. They're actually hung and smoked..."

No word yet on how much all this healthy stuff is going to cost. Since healthy food cost more when you go shopping and normal stadium tends to cost a small fortune anyway folks might need to take out a loan to eat one of those Portobello burgers.

Oh--and if our health is the last thing on your mind when you are at the game you have nothing to worry about. They will still have the traditional fare on the menu, and most importantly--1000 beer taps.
